Tailored towards the Radio Controlled hobbyist and similar

A suitable solution for the preservation of artifacts and heritage objects in a 3D electronic era

Scan directly for 3D printing or development with traditional 3D modelling techniques

Start from scratch with 3D Design, Development and Documentation for fabrication

3D printing

3D printing up to 350mm x 350mm x 350mm using various filament types such as PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, Nylon, ASA, PVA, Carbon Fibre plus Wood, Silk, Multi-Colour and Metal look. See the Jaycar Electronics website for more (www.jaycar.com.au)

PLA - Applications include prototypes, decorative items, educational models.

ABS  - Applications include Automotive parts, tools, housings.

PETG  - Good strength and flexibility, durable, food-safe, moisture and chemical resistant.
Applications include food containers, mechanical parts, functional prototypes.

TPU -  Flexible, elastic, good impact and abrasion resistance.
Applications include grips, seals, phone cases, custom footwear.

Nylon - Very strong, durable, high impact resistance, good wear resistance.
Applications include gears, hinges, functional parts, parts that require high strength and flexibility.

ASA  - Similar to ABS but more UV resistant, weather resistant. Applications include outdoor parts, automotive parts, parts exposed to sunlight.

Carbon Fiber Reinforced Filament: PLA, ABS, or nylon mixed with carbon fiber for increased stiffness and strength.

Wood Filament: PLA mixed with wood particles for a wood-like appearance.

Metal Filled Filament: PLA or ABS mixed with metal powder (bronze, copper, etc.) for a metallic look and feel.

For the Hobbyist

My services are designed to fulfill your unique needs, allowing you to create custom components and replace damaged parts for your beloved radio-controlled items.

Modelling services

I use Autodesk Inventor for modelling and generating drawings for projects for fabrication with machining equipment. Additionally, simulation of moving components for interference detection and pipe and cable routing.

Scanning Artifacts, Heritage and personal belongings

Concerned about deterioration, damage or simply after the opportunity to print a replica on a 3D printer. Scan and store it electronically.

Current projects

Laser scan of a dog statue with a piece missing from it's ear. With a bit of 3D modelling and sculpting, a 3D printed infill piece can be positioned, glued and painted.

The big challenge, 8 wheel drive / steering RC vehicle based on the Avtoros All-terrain vehicle.

Designed for fabrication out of Aluminum and Brass with a Lathe and Milling machine, along with some parts being printed with a 3D printer.

Both for fun during the wet season, and carrying all the flight gear and tools for flying radio controlled helicopters during the dry season.

After around 16 years of use and several rounds of kids thinking it's a home for their firecrackers, it's time for a new letter box. The beginning of a basic sheet metal drawing with bend order. Yes, this is only the bottom half.

Custom skirting trim. A simple Quad section used here but any profile could be used.

Rather than damaging the existing plasterboard wall lining, the existing skirting will be sanded back, gaps filled and painted. 3D printed 25mm quad will be glued to the existing skirting to conceal the gaps between the new timber flooring and existing skirting.

What the installation will look like when completed including hiding the gap around the side of the fridge. Looking at either fixing a wall trim extending out to the back of the fridge or, providing a trim with magnets and attaching it to the side of the fridge, pushed up against the wall to take into account for any deviation in the wall from being plumb.
